Our Davis Ponds have been stocked!

Some details:
There are 200+ rainbow trout in each of the two ponds (total 400+). The ponds are open to all visitors, but a Colorado fishing license required and all Colorado fishing rules, laws & regulations are in force. You can purchase a fishing license online, over the phone, or at one of the many retail locations listed on this page: cpw.state.co.us/buyapply/pages/fishing.aspx
Our thanks to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW)!

For more information on what you may see hiking to the ponds, see the Davis Ponds Interpretive Trail Brochure at this link: friendsstauntonpark.businesscatalyst.com/resources/brochures

It's that time of year again: 500 brood trout were stocked at the upper Davis Ponds today! The lower pond is still being repaired. Per Staunton: "Fishing is still available until construction begins and we will leave enough water for the fish in the pond to survive until we can refill come late July.

For more information please refer to our webpage cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Staunton or contact staff at 303-816-0912 for current information."

Attention anglers, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Mt. Shavano Fish Hatchery has recently restocked hundreds of rainbow trout in both the upper and lower Davis Ponds. Colorado State Parks day/annual pass is required. Anglers 16 years and older must possess a valid Colorado Fishing License. Bag limit = 4, no bait restrictions.

Thank you Colorado Parks and Wildlife!

We recently stocked 180 17-inch rainbow trout into the Davis Ponds at Staunton State Park - Colorado Parks and Wildlife. These fish are retired brood fish from the Glenwood Springs Hatchery, meaning they were the parents of many rainbow trout stocked across #Colorado over the past few years.

Don't forget, if you haven't yet purchased your 2020-21 Fishing License, please do so before you come to fish. Staunton's Visitor Center remains closed so you'll need to get one online through CPW prior to arrival.

Davis Ponds has been re-stocked with 14" rainbow trout - it's a great time to come ice fishing!

The Crystal River State Fish Hatchery stocked 700 14-inch rainbow trout into the Davis Ponds at Staunton State Park on Jan. 13, 2021. These trout are brood fish being retired, meaning they were the parents of many of the rainbow trout that were stocked across Colorado over the past few years.
