Disc golf, cabins, zipline and dog park — managed by a community nonprofit — make park "gem of Conifer"

CONIFER — Beaver Ranch Park in Conifer is not a typical park.

The 450-acre site at 11369 S. Foxton Road boasts 7 miles of trails, a nationally renowned disc golf course, a zip-line course, an off-leash dog park and an activity field. That is in addition to the campsites, cabins and main lodge left over from the property's tenure as a camp that also accommodates weddings and retreats.

However, it is not just the abundance of amenities that make Beaver Ranch Park unique: It is the only park owned by Jefferson County Open Space and managed by a nonprofit.

The Beaver Ranch nonprofit will soon be asking the Conifer community what else the park needs as it drafts a new master plan, 12 years after the community made it its park.
