Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) was formed in 1969 to serve the park and recreation needs of the communities of Evergreen, Bergen Park, Indian Hills, Kittredge and Marshdale. FREE FISHING at Buchanan Ponds!
What says "relaxing summer day" more than fishing? Nothing! So as the latest perk in Park & Recreation Month, Evergreen Park & Recreation District is offering FREE FISHING all weekend at Buchanan Ponds. And that starts Friday, because nothing says "summer" like a relaxing long weekend. Grab your rod and reel, a kid or two, and head to the ponds next to Buchanan Rec Center from 7 AM-7 PM each day.
The ponds at Buchanan Park Rec Center make an exceptional fishery, but paid permits are usually required, for $10 (DR) and $13 (NDR). Here are the other rules of the ponds:
* Nets and barbless flies are required.
* Catch and release only.
* Float tubes permitted. No boats.
