I got to send a shout out to the Staunton Kids Craft program. The last 2 weeks have been SO good. And educational. Last week we talked about birds. This week we talked about squirrels. Next week we're going to talk about bugs! And the kids I take care of LOVE this.

The cost is ZERO. It costs $0$!!!! Well you do need to pay to access the park. But if you have a state parks pass, you drive right in.

It meets on Wednesdays at 10:00 for an hour. It includes a short presentation, which is interactive. A short hike. A craft. And today they did a game.

But the best part is....... THE KIDS LOVE IT. AND..... they went home today and recognized where the squirrels were living, and noticed the acorns around their house that had clearly been used for food.

Thank you so much for providing this valuable program. Not only have the kids learned a lot, but so have I.

Thank you so very much for not only coming to the park and bringing the children you watch with you, but for this wonderful testimonial BarbL - we appreciate it! Our park volunteers and staff work hard to put together informative and engaging programs and activities, it means a lot to them to know they are enjoyed by kids and adults alike!

Coming up this weekend, something new at Staunton State Park: Archery! Special for Father's Day Weekend, both days we will have an archery range available from 10am-3pm. Meet near the Group Picnic Area.

On Saturday at 10am we also have a Wildlife Photography Class - bring your cameras as we take a hike and learn how to take lovely pictures of the amazing beauty all around us!
