Tuesday Aug 1
Wildflower Hike 10am
Take a hike with a plant expert! Learn interesting facts and some fun fiction about Staunton’s beautiful wildflowers!

Wednesday Aug 2
Kids Program: Hummingbirds! 10am
Did you know that hummingbirds have really long tongues that wrap around their brains? Come learn other amazing facts about these tiny creatures.

Archery in the Park! 10am-2p
Take a beautiful leisurely hike to Davis Ponds and learn how to use a bow and arrow! Fun for all ages!

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Aug 2, 3, 4
Jr Ranger Program
Each session includes a three day program held Wed. Thur. Fri.
12noon-3:00pm
Sign upon line Staunton State Park website or at the Park Entrance.This program is designed for children to enjoy an independent experience and gain knowledge of the outdoors. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend the final day graduation event. A light lunch and graduation ceremony will be held on the final day - don’t forget your camera!

Saturday Aug 5
Wildlife Photography! 10am
Learn how to take breathtaking photographs! Bring your own camera for a short instructional class and then hike with a photographer along the beautiful trails to use your new skills to photograph the many wonders of Staunton State Park!

Sunday August 6
Kids Fishing Program 10am-2p
The fish are biting!! Come play backyard bass and then fish at beautiful Davis Ponds! All gear provided those 16yrs and over must have a valid fishing license.

Tuesday Aug 8

Wednesday Aug 9
Kids Program Predator /Prey 10am
Learn about the animals living in the Park! Discover how their characteristics help them survive in the wilderness.

Saturday Aug 12
2nd Annual Accessibility BBQ 11am-2p
Come celebrate our extremely successful Track Chair Program! Our Friends Group is fundraising to get disabled visitors outdoors! Grab a bite to eat while supporting this amazing program!

Learning about the giants we live with! Which ones smell like vanilla? Which ones have needles and which ones drop cones on your head?

Family Fishing Program 5p-8p
The fish are biting!! Come play backyard bass and then fish at beautiful Davis Ponds! All gear provided those 16yrs and over must have a valid fishing license.

Saturday Aug 19

Solar Eclipse! 11:30am-1pm
Join us for a once in 7 years Solar Eclipse! We will learn about different types of eclipses and how to view them. Solar Glasses provided! All Ages.

Edible Medicinal Plants 10am-2p
The Staunton’s were doctors who used homeopathic remedies to treat patients in their mountain cabins. Discover which backyard plants can be used for pain relief or teas and how to identify them for your own future use!
