We wanted to share this event that Evergreen Wilderness Guides has organized and is teaching at Staunton State Park on Saturday, July 21 from 8:30 AM - 2:30. This is not organized by Staunton staff or volunteers, but it is a topic which is important for anyone enjoying the great outdoors!
You are out hiking, climbing, backcountry skiing or walking your dog and you are LOST! EWG’s course can save your life! Roary designed this course to help the lost hiker survive ill fated backcountry adventures. We combine this with our Introduction to Outdoor Rock Climbing that focuses on climbing equipment, climbing movement, basic climbing knots, belaying methods back up belayers, ground anchors, and lowering climbers. Costs is $120 per person. 18 people group size maximum. All equipment is provided, Course involves moderate hiking. Participants must bring their own snacks and water. Children must be at least 8 y.o and accompanied by an adult. Call or PM us for reservations.

A local small business specializing in beginner to expert rock climbing, rappelling, and wilderness survival instruction in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. We are Evergreen’s only Rock Climbing and Survival School. EWG operates all year outside of family holidays and major snow storms. We do not book online.
