A hearty Congratulations to Castlewood Canyon State Park for being designated a Gold Standard Site by Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, only the 12th park in the Unites States, and 2nd in Colorado after Roxborough State Park, to do so - what an incredible accomplishment!

A huge thanks for this to volunteers Bev Finamore, Mike Thomas, the Friends of Castlewood Canyon State Park and volunteers at Roxborough for making this happen,” said Castlewood Canyon Park Manager Brent Lounsbury.

Several other state parks in Colorado are working toward receiving Gold Standard status, including Eleven Mile State Park, Barr Lake State Park, Colorado State Parks and Staunton State Park - Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Thank you to Meteorologist Chris Spears of CBS Denver for sharing the fabulous news.
