WARNING! We have had 3 reports of an active mountain lion in the area of Upper Maxwell Falls. Odds are Mama has cubs so she may be aggressive. Be aware and follow US Forest Service suggestions if you encounter one.

There's a mama bear and her cubs hanging around near the bathrooms at Meyer Ranch Open Space and she does not back off or move away when approached. Use caution.

Reports that mama elk have been charging hikers/passersby - please give them a wide berth as they are birthing and spending much time around the Evergreen Lake/Evergreen Lake trail this time of year and will be more aggressive than usual while protecting their young.

Moose (male, and also a mama and her calf) have been seen by many almost daily.
