On Saturday, January 22. COFA will be having its Outdoor Survival class for anyone interested from 1:00 to 3:00 PM this is open to everyone, men, women, and children.
Outdoor Survival Course
Quick question: Would you know what to do if you got lost in the wilderness while hunting or backpacking? How would you deal with a friend that got hypothermia on one of your bike trips? By carrying the right gear, you'd be able to survive most outdoor emergencies.
These are great questions that we will answer and more in our training session focused on Survival, January 22nd, from 1-3 PM.
Many people die needlessly in the outdoors because they were not equipped with the right gear. In this class, you will learn what kind of survival gear should be carried when you're out in the field, mountains, forests, or on the water.
Do you know how to make a fire in the rain or cold?
What gear should you carry on a hike, or while hunting?
Do you carry the necessary gear when ATVing, or biking?
We will cover the 15 Critical Survival Items in a list of Survival Equipment that can help your survival in a Wilderness setting. The more quality Critical Items you Carry the easier time you will have Surviving. Unfortunately the more survival gear you take the less likely you are to actually carry the items with you, so compromises are required. We will cover this equipment in the survival class.
Here are those items. Would you know how to use them in a survival situation?
Proper clothing, means to light a fire, survival knives, whistle, personal first aid kit, compass or GPS, cord, signal mirror, small cooking stove, bow saw, shelter, sleeping bag, mattress, a waterproof backpack, extra comfort items, hand warmers, headlamp, high energy food.
It is Essential that Every Item you Take into the Wilderness is Actually Useful to your Survival. Most people think of only taking a small wilderness survival kit when they should instead consider taking the proper critical wilderness survival gear.
Bring your questions, and if you have them, your backpack and survival gear to the class. You can talk with those who have field experience in survival and can recommend what proper survival gear you should carry on your outdoor trips.
This class is open to anyone but seating is limited to 30 people to observe proper spacing. Register early so you don't miss this opportunity!
