Elk Meadow Park Closures April - July for Mountain Pine Beetle Treatment

NOTICE: Starting in April 2026, we will begin mountain pine beetle treatment on ~15 acres of Jenkins Peak at Elk Meadow Park. Tree marking will start at the end of March, with tree removals beginning in April. The project is expected to be complete by July 2026. The top of Jenkins Peak Trail and the adjacent area will be closed for the duration of the project; all other trails south of the Stagecoach Trailhead will remain open. Expect crews, dangerous equipment, and enforced closures for safety.
