I have a lot of fun creating my own bizarre patterns (Bead Head Packer Nymph, Brookie Bugger) Some are complete failures but others, like the 2 mentioned above do very well. It can get addictive, I have found myself going to bed after 2:00 AM some nights when I get carried away.
I created my own tying station by making a box and cover on top of an old wool TV tray. Very functional and portable. I attach a picture later.
Remember to sein and collect bugs on each river you go to. Here is a bunch of South Platte Stoneflies.
