This was the only show that I can say qualified as a soap opera that my parents watched, and on rare occasion I got to see an episode as a kid. I remember wondering "Who shot JR" and I remember the infamous "It was all a dream" episode. He was larger than life.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

In reading your link, SC, I learned one of the more impressive facts of his life:

Mr. Hagman made his home in California with his wife of 59 years, the former Maj Axelsson.

Impressive, given the entertainment industry environment and prevailing standards.
