Takei — who recently released his book, "Oh Myyy! (There Goes The Internet)," and will star in the Broadway musical "Allegiance" this fall — will appear at Comic Con on June 1 and 2.
Last year's inaugural event played host to 27,700 attendees — the second-biggest opening for a Comic Con, behind New York's 32,000.
As of November, overall ticket sales for this year have increased by 1,031 percent from last year, according to organizers. VIP tickets are sold out.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
