Never really got into Doctor Who, but if it's any consolation that show is the longest running television show....in the world. I've watched a few episodes on Netflix and it is superb.

I watched the Tom Baker ones on PBS in the 70's. Then watched the Tennant version. Matt Smith is only OK as a Doctor, but so far the new year is good.
