All star cast but will the story be entertaining?

I guess if you make a living procuring fine European art then this story line would be interesting; haven't seen the movie yet so more to follow.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

I will probably watch it but more excited about "Fury". Brad Pitt in a Sherman tank behind enemy lines. Playing Oddball?

Went and saw this yesterday, not bad. Fantastic cast, but it dragged a little in spots. I love movies that are based on historical fact and keep the knowledge alive of what sacrifices many made to preserve history. It's important that generations now, and to come, learn these things.

Harry enjoyed George Clooney's MONUMENTS MEN quite a bit!

Still want to see this one but I think I better hurry. Like the story.
Interesting question posed in the movie, at what price do we put human lives versus saving classic art?

I liked their explanation in the movie:

Lt Frank Stokes: You can wipe out an entire generation, you can burn their homes to the ground, and somehow they’ll still find their way back. But if you destroy their history, you destroy their achievements, then it’s as if they never existed.

A human life cannot be replaced, but neither can a work of art. And once that art piece is gone, same as a human life, those who come after are forever altered. To some that is an equal travesty, and worth an equal sacrifice. If I were guarding the Svalbard Global Seed Vault http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svalbard_Global_Seed_Vault , I'd feel the same way.
