This is so heartbreaking to lose anyone to something so insidious, but someone so talented and young...just awful. Peace to him and his loved ones.

As if he had no choice in the matter. It does not take a genius to link heroin to death. He chose his death years ago.

I didn't say that he had no choice, but having never suffered with an addiction, it's impossible to say what it's like for those who do and condemn them for it. I just find it incredibly sad that he's gone so young and for so disheartening a reason.

Yes...and that he left behind three young children that will know their dad's legacy as death by heroin. Hopefully his body of movies will prevail.

Supposedly he had been clean for a couple decades after having a scare when he was 22. Odd for someone to get back into drugs in their 40's.

He was such a great actor, love the work he did with director Paul Thomas Anderson.
