After viewing the trailer, I had very low expectations for this film. Looked like a surreal funny man was going to make a goofy one joke movie that went on for way too long. I was wrong. Instead I found it a delightful film about a young boy growing up in the last year of World War II. He has been exposed to a decade of Nazi propaganda, but only starts questioning it when he finds a Jewish teenager hiding in his attic. Sweet, funny film that also features pain. The director has a goofy imaginary Hitler for laughs, but we also see the horrible crimes of the Gestapo against their own citizens. All three child actors in the movie do a great job.
BTW, the director/fake Hitler also directed one of the Thor movies.
