Very tense drama on Netflix with three seasons available to binge. Jason Bateman plays a financial counselor with a family in Chicago. His business partner gets involved in a money laundering scheme with one of their clients and they start stealing from a vicious Mexican drug cartel. They get found out and the partner is killed. Jason, in exchange for his life and the life of his family agrees to move to the Ozarks and launder money there instead for the cartel.
The family are like fish out of water as they find it difficult to adapt and implement their schemes in an area much more corrupt than they expect.
Lots of suspense here, reminds me of "Breaking Bad". as someone straight and narrow has to toughen up quickly.
The money laundering angle also intrigues me. Now I am wondering if every small business I see is laundering their ill gotten gains.
