Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer confirmed what we first told you back in mid-July, in what he billed as “one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood”: Jennifer Grey is starring and executive producing a new Dirty Dancing movie at the mini-major.
Warm Bodies director Jonathan Levine is shepherding the project with Gillian Bohrer from a screenplay by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis (Five Feet Apart, The Curse of La LLorona).
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

NOPE....nothing compares to the original...the back story to get the movie made was on REELZ and
it almost did not get made.....based on the screen writers true story. She fought ferociously to have
the script stay true. MANY change were proposed, but she stuck to her guns....they showed the substituent
location site for the Pocanos (spg?) and the lake is no longer there, but it is a tourist attraction because
for the most part it looks the same as when the movie was shot.
The last dance scene where Patrick jumps off the stage was a bitch..He had injured his leg doing the Log
walk with Baby....delayed the schedule. He attempted that jump 4 times from the stage and was in a tremendous amount of pain...told the director..I have ONE MORE in me.....THAT was the one they used.
As I remember he had written "she's like the wind" and they were searching for a song to match the scene.....he gave them that song and it was a hit.

Easier to see sequels in Hollywood because the people who have the money know the original.
The series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" has some great episodes about those 50's and 60's Summers.
Hope Ms. Grey's film is a success and we can see it in theaters eventually.
