The Banshees of Ising

Watched this movie in theaters this weekend to a healthy crowd. Is set on a quiet fictional island during the Irish Civil War in the 1920's. Beautiful scenery and the quiet car-free life lull you into a false sense of ease. One man has decided his dim witted friend has wasted too much of his time and ends the friendship unilaterally. The film moves quickly from light comedy to a Irish tragedy. It becomes jaw dropping at the end but you still have to admire the craftsmanship from the director who also brought us In Bruges and Three Billboards. Four out of five fingers.

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
