A fictional film about choosing a new Pope after the death of the current Pope.
Very timely movie not only because we just had a major election, but the current Pope Francis is very frail right now.
The film? Great visuals! Rome and the Vatican always make for great scenery. Love the politics in the movie, the liberal wing trying to hold onto power when the conservative wing wants to repeal Vatican II. They even have a terrorist attack on the Vatican when they are voting.
There is an interesting twist at the end that made me want to roll my eyes, but the writing did manage to save the day.
