I LOVED this play, hopefully they translate the book well to TV (there's a movie already in the works). I have the books, but haven't gotten to read them yet.

ABC Developing 8-Hour Oz-Centric Miniseries WICKED!!
Published on: Jan 10, 2011 4:28:51 CST

TVLine head honcho Michael Ausiello reports that ABC is developing “Wicked,” an eight-hour miniseries based on the Gregory Maguire novel that also inspired the smash Broadway musical.

It tells the story of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” from the perspective of the heroic Witch of the West.

(Universal is simultaneously developing a big-screen project based on the musical.)

The TV version is being scripted by Erik Jendresen (“Band of Brothers”).

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

I will keep my eye out for that....Wicked is one of my favorite plays. The book was not as good, perhaps because i saw the musical several times before reading the book.....the music set the tone for the story so well.
