Lead levels acceptable at Platte Canyon schools

The drinking water at all three schools in the Platte Canyon School District has been declared safe after concerns were raised earlier this year about lead levels in the water at Deer Creek Elementary.

According to Superintendent Brenda Krage, the district took action in June in response to both new tap water sampling guidelines released by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and concerns raised by Parents and Citizens for Education, a group of Bailey residents that formed in late spring.
