Ginger Slocum has been appointed by the Platte Canyon school board as interim principal at Fitzsimmons Middle School in Bailey.
According to school board president Chet Lawrence, Slocum had originally applied for a position as a curriculum and assessment coordinator with the district, but was eventually considered as an interim replacement for Rim Watson, whose contract as principal of Fitzsimmons was not renewed in May.
