One-time Denver officer convicted of two felonies in Jeffco court

A one-time Denver police officer, who was accused of arranging a tryst at a Burger King in South Jeffco with a DA’s investigator posing as a 14-year-old, has been convicted of two felonies.

Joseph Ellsworth, 60, of Colorado Springs was found guilty last week of internet luring of a child and attempted sexual assault on a child. Ellsworth, who is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 1, faces nine years to life in prison.
