About 100 parents and students protested outside Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen on Wednesday morning after six teachers apparently were fired Tuesday afternoon.

The six instructors, who according to one teacher were let go because they were not "team players," were escorted from the charter school off Evergreen Parkway by sheriff's deputies.

Last Thursday, seven of the eight existing voting members of the RMAE school board resigned without citing reasons and without returning phone calls from the Canyon Courier.

“This has been two years in the making,” parent Lee Dorkin told the group gathered at Elk Meadow. … There’s been a hostile culture created by Roberta Harrell. … This has traumatized our students.”
