Residents still can participate in the county’s Giving Tree

Gift tags featuring holiday wishes are still hanging on Jeffco’s holiday Giving Tree, which means there’s time for residents to purchase a gift for a local child in need.

The Giving Tree has been standing since mid-November in the atrium of the Jeffco courthouse. The tree was originally decorated with about 300 tags featuring gift wishes from local Jeffco children.

Sponsored by the Jeffco Board of County Commissioners, the Giving Tree initiative benefits children in the Court Appointed Special Advocates and Jeffco’s Head Start programs.

New, unopened and unwrapped gifts — with the tag attached — are due at the county commissioners’ office no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.
