Officials at Jeffco Public Schools and the Jeffco Sheriff's Office are investigating a threat of violence made against Conifer High School earlier this week.

According to Jeffco sheriff's spokeswoman Jenny Fulton, a threat written on a bathroom surface was discovered Monday and lead to increased law enforcement presence at the school midday Tuesday.

Because investigators determined there was no immediate threat to students or staff, the high school was not placed on lockout or lockdown, according to Jeffco Public Schools spokeswoman Diana Wilson.

Parents were notified of the situation after the fact by email, which is in line with district protocol on communications about threats. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
