The body of a man reported missing after a canoe accident at Wellington Lake last month was recovered Friday by Jeffco sheriff's deputies following an exhaustive search.
Henry Wendel, 66, and his wife, Janice, of Bailey, were canoeing at the lake early on March 22 when the canoe overturned. While his wife was able to swim to shore and was later airlifted to an area hospital with severe hypothermia, Henry Wendel was not immediately located.
