Something camp-y on the way at Staunton

Visitors to Conifer’s Staunton State Park will soon be able to walk in, pitch a tent and yes, camp overnight.

According to Zach Taylor, Staunton’s park manager, more than two dozen campsites are expected to open at the park as early as this fall or next spring and with some basic amenities, such as picnic tables.

While it will be at least several months before the campsites at Staunton open to the public, the park has finalized approximate prices and is finalizing a service agreement with ReserveAmerica, an online camping reservation platform.

Campsites will be available for about $20 per night and an additional vehicle pass fee of $7 will be required.
