According to State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid, the accident occurred at about 10 a.m. Monday and sent both vehicles into the river that runs along the northbound side of the highway. Reid said the driver of the motorcycle was being flown by medical helicopter to a local hospital, but didn’t have information about the driver of the semi-truck.

A Missouri man was seriously injured Monday morning when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a semi-truck on U.S. 285 in Bailey near the Knotty Pine shop.
Gerardo Martinez, 48, of Englewood, was traveling southbound on U.S. 285 at 9:54 a.m. when the 2012 International straight truck he was driving failed to negotiate a right curve, overcorrected and traveled onto the center median.
In the process, according to State Trooper Nate Reid, the truck collided with the front of a 2002 BMW motorcycle driven by Jason Hutson, 42, of Missouri, who was traveling northbound on the highway.
