If one can’t enjoy the music of fireworks filling the night sky on Independence Day, then why not enjoy actual music?
Buchanan Fields hosted the 28th annual Evergreen Music Festival on July 4 as a dozen musical acts of various genres performed for an estimated 2,200 attendees. While there were a few newcomers to the festival’s lineup this year, most have grown accustomed to spending their Fourth of July playing in Evergreen.
Kathy Brantigan, president and founder of the Denver Brass, said this was the group’s 21st year performing in Evergreen. As such, the band and its selection of patriotic songs have become a festival staple.
“We like coming to Evergreen where the sky is clear and the people smile,” Brantigan said. “It’s a good celebration here. We would rather celebrate it here than anywhere else.”
