Mark Edward Hudson, the Evergreen man and former Clear Creek music teacher accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl at his home in Evergreen over Thanksgiving in 2015, was acquitted by a jury Friday afternoon on charges related to the incident.
Hudson, 59, was found not guilty of one count of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, a Class 4 felony. He pleaded not guilty to the charge in January.
Hudson’s acquittal came after a four-day trial during which the victim, members of her family, members of Hudson's family and Hudson himself testified about the series of events that led to the charges and trial.
Following the announcement of the verdict, Hudson was embraced by his attorneys and his family. Neither the victim nor her parents were present at the reading of the verdict.
