Twelve-year-old Morgan Wolfers of Conifer has won the Young Travel Photographer of the Year award. Wolfers was honored as part of the 2017 International Travel Photographer of the Year awards competition in England.
Awarded for a portfolio of several aspen tree and leaf photographs, the honor recognizes overall youth excellence in travel photography, which spans a wide range of genres and subjects, including landscapes, food, architecture, people, wildlife and more.
Announced Dec. 13, the award makes Wolfers one of the youngest-ever overall winners of the competition since its inception in 2003.
The TPOTY award is the latest honor for Wolfers. Last year, her photograph of a spotted tiger moth and its eggs went on display at the Washington, D.C., home of former Vice President Joe Biden after the image caught the attention of National Geographic Kids magazine editors.
