Evergreen residents will decide whether the Evergreen Metropolitan and Upper Bear Creek Water & Sanitation districts should be consolidated on the May 8 ballot.
Residents of either district can vote at the Evergreen Metro Administration Building 30920 Stagecoach Blvd., from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 8. The election is walk-in only; there are no mail-in ballots available to non-absentee voters.
According to EMD general manager Dave Lighthart, the Upper Bear district receives all its water and sewer treatment from Evergreen Metro, and consolidating into the EMD could save Upper Bear about $50,000 a year.
