Music to the ears: Hundreds attending July 4 festival treated to feast of sounds

Percussive bursts of sound filled Buchanan Park on July 4, but fireworks weren’t the culprit.
The Evergreen Music Festival was.

Two stages and a lot of speakers made sure nobody missed a note, and with a schedule packed with 12 performers, there was a song for just about everybody. The lineup included everything from the Evergreen High School choir to Western folk and jazz, and the main tent played host to the Denver Brass and Fiesta Colorado Dance Co.

One of the biggest names on the roster was Face Vocal Band. The internationally acclaimed acapella group, based in Boulder, got the audience moving — and even singing along — to vocal versions of popular songs from almost every decade.
