Morrison officially kickstarted a process that could amend the town’s comprehensive plan and extend the commercial zone district.
The town board on July 3 unanimously approved a motion to spend approximately $7,022 on the comprehensive plan amendment project, which includes costs for community outreach and adoption.
Inquiries into property north of town sparked the decision to take a look at the comprehensive plan and potentially rezone the town’s commercial district to include 401 Mount Vernon Ave., and 3153 Highway 93, which are currently zoned low-density residential and agricultural.
