The Colorado Department of Transportation will seek funding for the Kings Valley Road interchange — as well as improvements on U.S. 285 between Richmond Hill and Shaffers Crossing — via ballot initiatives set to be announced this fall.
According Jana Spiker, resident engineer with CDOT, the interchange and the improvements are expected to cost around $70 million. While Spiker didn’t specify what the ballot initiatives would look like, she said the department is also seeking additional funding from Colorado’s FASTER Safety program.
