A perfect family event: Children descend on Buchanan Park for Kids Triathlon

Nearly 200 children ages 5 to 13 descended on the Buchanan Park Rec Center on Sunday morning to swim, run and bike their way to fitness while having some fun.

The kids, supported by their parents, siblings, grandparents and pets, participated in the ninth annual Kids Triathlon. They swam laps in the pool, ran around one of the Bergen ponds and biked through Bergen Park.

Family members cheered, waved flags and signs, rang cowbells and took pictures. Many agreed it was a perfect family event.
