As Evergreen High School volleyball’s libero, Skylar Gale is no stranger to maintaining control of her squad’s movements while fielding anything the other team throws at her.

In her life and on the court, Gale isn’t afraid to do whatever it takes to get the job done — whatever that may mean.

Gale also serves as a student senate officer, the treasurer for the National Honor Society and participates in the National Charity League, a mother-daughter organization that focuses on services projects around the community. She plays for the Elevation Volleyball Club in Englewood.

All of that, including her estimated 4.5 weighted grade-point average, has garnered the attention of the Boettcher Foundation.

Of thousands of applicants, Gale has been named a semifinalist, meaning she’s been narrowed down to the last few hundred applicants.

Next semester, Skylar will also be participating in an internship with Lockheed Martin, which she earned through the Jeffco Executive Internship program.
