Floyd Hill project likely to be shelved

With the failure of the infrastructure-related ballot measures last November, funding for the Interstate 70 Floyd Hill project is in flux.

Perhaps it will come from the state legislature or the governor’s office, but unless or until it does, the project looks to be shelved, representatives from the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

The proposed project would build a 2,000-foot three-lane tunnel for westbound traffic at the bottom of Floyd Hill to the Veterans Memorial Tunnels. The project was estimated at $550 million.
