Walking on ice is a fascinating experience — to hear it crack, to feel it shift, and to see all the little bubbles, air pockets and divisions within its layers, Stephen Thompson of Castle Rock described.

Arguably even more fascinating than walking on ice is driving on it.

“When you get on ice, it’s something totally different,” Thompson said of ice-driving. “I learn every time I go out there. … It’s a unique experience, and it’s gorgeous at Georgetown Lake.”
