With a fresh blanket of snow and a clear, blue sky, Saturday proved to be the perfect day to celebrate winter.
Jackie Gibson smiles as her tube skids to a halt near the bottom of the Meyer Ranch sledding hill on Saturday during the annual 285 WinterFest. The fresh snow made it challenging for some to make it down the hill at Meyer Ranch during last weekend's tubing competition.
And what better way to do so than a community tubing competition? Dozens filled Meyer Ranch Park for an adrenaline-packed start to 285 WinterFest.
“That was awesome,” said Pine Junction resident Jackie Gibson as she made it to the bottom of the Meyer Ranch tubing hill. It was her third time attending the event.
“We love it,” she said.
The tubing competition was the first of many activities held during the annual 285 WinterFest, hosted by the Conifer Chamber of Commerce.
