Those who knew Peggy Braun, a longtime Evergreen resident, say they can’t say enough nice things about her.

She was a volunteer for many organizations, a friend who would give you the shirt off her back and someone who was passionate about helping people.

“She was the sweetest person around,” said Sharon Smith, executive director of Evergreen Christian Outreach where both Peggy and her husband Bill were longtime volunteers. “Peggy always jumped in and helped no matter what was going on at EChO.”

Peggy, 73, was killed in a car crash on Feb. 22 on Highway 93 at Golden Gate Canyon Road, and her celebration of life was Friday at Church of the Hills, attended by more than 200 people.
