Conifer High School’s DECA program teaches students about business and marketing, but for most, it does a lot more than that.
Founded in 1946, DECA — formerly known as Distributive Education Clubs of America — prepares students across the world to be leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. According to its website, the high school division includes 200,000 members in 3,500 schools.
At competitions, students participate in events in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism.
With more than 80 members, DECA is Conifer’s largest club.
