This month, Silver Plume is hosting “Whines to Witches” as its 42nd annual melodrama.
The Downing Playhouse was packed Sunday night as the 14-member cast, including two newcomers, took to the stage to perform the play, which was written by George Downing.
Downing, who died last year, was integral to Silver Plume’s melodrama program. Even after he retired from the stage, he visited practices, cast member Nick Regester said.
