Evergreen Newspapers wins 23 Colorado Press Association awards was created by ClearCreekCourant

Evergreen Newspapers collected 23 awards Saturday night during the annual Colorado Press Association awards banquet at the Hyatt Regency in Aurora.

Editor Michael Hicks, photo editor Sara Hertwig and staff reporter Deborah Swearingen won or shared six awards each.

In all, the staff earned 14 first-place honors and nine second-place awards.
