Indian Hills fire and water districts sign IGA (Intergovernmental Agreement)

More than nine months after first discussing it, Indian Hills Fire Rescue and Indian Hills Water District have officially entered into an intergovernmental agreement.

Among other things, the agreement defines each district’s role in the community and specifies the resources of each.

A large part of the four-page document talks about hydrant use and testing. There are currently 32 fire hydrants within the Indian Hills Water District, none of which have metered water use.

Furthermore, IHWD will coordinate testing, including static and residual pressure and functionality, and the water district also will create a coding system of tagging or marking each hydrant to indicate functionality and testing results.
