There may be no better way to demonstrate the mountain community’s appreciation for a healthy lifestyle than witnessing families spending time outside on a beautiful day.
After a week dedicated to encouraging healthy behavior for students, families continued the celebration on May 4 during Eudaimonia’s inaugural mountain-area ninja warrior obstacle course, which served as a fundraiser for local schools.
For parents, the question of health is a no-brainer. It’s important to Shellie McKeown “so they live longer and are happier and so that they’re ready to learn.” McKeown, parent engagement coordinator at Conifer’s Mountain Resource Center, also helps with healthy initiatives at Elk Creek Elementary.
