Slime may seem the stuff of far-off alien worlds, but in reality it only takes a few things from the grocery store to create it.
On Friday, more than 25 youngsters and their parents worked underneath the blacklight at Evergreen Library to make their own slime and bouncy balls. The event was part of the library’s space-themed summer reading program.
The goal of summer reading activities such as this one, she said, is to bring people into the library, to remind them that there’s more available than simply books, and to give kids, tweens and teens something to do, especially during the summer months.
Even though she makes slime at home, Carly Canaday, 9, and her family ventured to the library to take part. Carly noted that the slime she made at the library turned out better than the ones she’s made at home.
